Reg Hall left school at 14 and started work in the electrical shop at Harland and Wolff Rotherhithe and remained an electrician throughout his working life. He entered the film industry via Cine-Color at Slough where he went to install air-conditioning equipment. He joined the staff and , in time, also worked on negative development and printing. When Cine-color closed he joined Technicolor as a maintenance electrician.
